Orthotics
An orthotic is a custom fit, semi-rigid device used to help control abnormal joint motion that is causing harmful effects on the surrounding joints and tissues. An orthotic is easily placed inside of most shoes and sneakers and can be used with all activities.
Program Overview A specially-trained physical therapist will conduct an evaluation of the foot with special emphasis placed on its structure and orientation. Included in the evaluation will be a video taken of the client walking on the treadmill. If orthotics are deemed necessary, a plaster cast of each foot is taken. The casts are then sent to Stride Orthotics, one of the premier manufacturers of orthotics on the East Coast. Benefits Almost any patient with foot, ankle, knee, hip or back pain might benefit from an evaluation to assess if there are any structural deformities that are affecting a patient’s joint function. Cost The initial biomedical evaluation is FREE! The patient will only be charged if they decide to be fitted for orthotics. At the time of your evaluation, your insurance coverage/benefits will be verified. |
