With Facts like these, it is imperative you choose the right physical therapist for your ACL rehabilitation.

Thomas Nicolla PT uses research backed testing to better predict when an athlete can safely return to sport.

Testing includes:

  •       1 rep max for hamstrings and quadriceps

  •        A battery of hop testing

  •      Vertical jump

  •        Single leg squat endurance test

  •      IKDC 2000 questionnaire

Testing is performed on both legs and includes both quantitative and qualitative analysis by our expert physical therapists.  Once testing is complete, a thorough report will be sent to the referring physician.

 Total time: 45 minutes

When to test:

  • At 4-6 months post-op: Patient is not expected to “pass” at this time. Testing is used to establish baseline and better direct future course of care.

  • At 9 months: To determine if safe to RTS.

If patient does not pass, Thomas Nicolla PT will work with patient to determine next steps. This may be continued physical therapy or an extensive HEP.

Cost: ACL RTS is considered physical therapy and will be billed as an initial evaluation.
