Vestibular Rehabilitation

Do you get dizzy when rolling in bed?

Have you been told you have “crystals” in your ears?

Do you feel disoriented when looking at moving objects or turning your head?

Do you often lose your balance?

If so, you may need vestibular rehabilitation therapy!

Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy (VRT) is a type of therapy provided by a physical therapist to improve dizziness, vertigo, and poor balance. It is easily treated in the outpatient setting and involves specific maneuvers and exercises to improve your tolerance to motion and different positions.

People with the following conditions may suffer from vertigo and would benefit from Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy:

Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV)

Migraines

Concussion/Whiplash

Meniere's Disease

Labyrinthitis

And more!

Our Program

Headed by Nicole Cook, PT, DPT, AIB-VR, a Physical Therapist and certified Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapist through the American Institute of Balance, our program consists of specific exercises to reduce and even eliminate your symptoms. This can decrease the need for medications and reduce your risk for falls.

Our Vestibular program is currently offered at the Delmar location.

If you think you may benefit from Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy, ask your doctor for a prescription for physical therapy. If they agree, call (518) 438-7926 to schedule an appointment.
