Covid-19 UPDATE (effective MARCH 14, 2022)

To Our Valued Patients,

On behalf of myself and the entire Thomas Nicolla Physical Therapy team, I would like to emphasize our efforts to provide a safe environment for all our patients and employees during the recent spread of COVID-19.

We have been closely monitoring recommendations set forth by both the CDC and the NYS Department of Health. Since this is a very fluid situation, we will continue to be updating our policies and specific procedures as new information becomes available.

In continuing to follow CDC and NYSDOH guidelines, we will no longer require healthy individuals to wear masks in our clinics.

However, if you have recently recovered from Covid-19 please continue to wear a mask per CDC guidelines. COMFORT and SAFETY is our greatest concern and we understand that some individuals feel more comfortable wearing masks.

OUR THERAPISTS ARE PREPARED TO REMAIN MASKED DURING YOUR TREATMENT SESSION IF YOU SO CHOOSE.

Additional steps we are taking, effective immediately include:

  • Regularly disinfecting all “high touch” surfaces, including door handles, waiting areas, restrooms, counters, etc. with hospital grade disinfectants.

  • Therapists and staff will use best practices related to hand washing, and disinfecting plinths, equipment, and walls between each patient.

  • We are asking all patients to wash their hands upon entering our clinic/treatment areas. Hand washing is proven to be the most effective way to prevent the spread of illness.

  • We are asking that only patients receiving treatment pass through the waiting area, unless a caregiver is required to assist in the treatment. We are also asking anyone who is driving a patient to either wait in the waiting area or their car for the duration of the session.

As always, if you are feeling ill and/or exhibiting symptoms such as a fever, cough and/or shortness of breath, please call our office as we would be happy to reschedule your appointment for when you are feeling better.

The health and safety of our patients and staff is of the utmost importance to me. Please rest assured that we are taking every precaution to ensure your safety.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to ask a staff member. This is an uncertain time for all of us, but I’m confident if we work together, we can continue to provide a safe and healthy environment.

All the best,
Tom Nicolla, PT
